I was looking to get a ‘whole family’ picture which I intended to be a part of. I’d used older Nikon cameras in the past and found great success with ML-L3 remote. I’m a big fan of the D750, so now that we have one in service, I wanted to use it.
I messed around with the Nikon WMU mobile app, got that connected, but while I found the app to be pretty neat, at the time of this writing the Android version was immature and not all that easy to use.
It was difficult finding documentation on how to use the ML-L3 with the D750 without paying. This information should be free, and I like paying it forward, so courtesy of my last 90 minutes cracking this nut:
- Locate and press the “info” button on the back of your camera.
- Select the “Remote control mode (ML-L3)” then press “OK”.
- Select mode, I’m going with the “2s Delayed remote” for smile preparation time. Press “OK”.
- You’re ready to remotely actuate that shutter (as indicated in the “info” menu).
